Accident Medical Expense insurance is an excellent 'gap' product for medical expenses resulting from a covered accident. Maximum benefit amounts available, for each accident, range from $2,500 up to $10,000 – with a $0 deductible, which means first dollar coverage. These plans can be used to cover someone's out-of-pocket costs; deductibles on their health plan, co-pays, or coinsurance – costs someone would have to pay out-of-pocket for an accident.
The Accident Medical Expense plan pays for all expenses resulting from an accident that their health plan doesn't cover (deductibles, co-pays or coinsurance) up to the maximum benefit amount purchased; or, if the person doesn't have other health coverage, the Accident Medical Expense plan pays for all expenses incurred from an accident, up to the maximum benefit amount purchased. This plan is available to individuals, couples, or families with children. There are no limits on the number of accidents per covered person. The coverage is available 24x7 – on or off the job.
